Where This Started

I moved to Prague from Brno in 2019, which meant I suddenly had a city I did not know very well and a country I thought I understood completely. The first two years I barely left Prague. Then a friend suggested a weekend trip to Cesky Krumlov in October 2021, and something shifted.

The town was extraordinary. Not just the castle or the river bend, but the whole experience of being somewhere that felt genuinely different from the city — quieter, older, with a pace that made it possible to actually notice things. I came back to Prague on Sunday evening thinking I had been missing something obvious for years.

Since then, I have spent most of my weekends traveling. Not always far — sometimes just to a different neighborhood of Prague, or to a town an hour away by train. But consistently, with the intention of paying attention to what I find.

What This Site Is

NediloPoint is my attempt to share what I have found in a way that is actually useful. Most travel content about the Czech Republic falls into one of two categories: either the same list of Prague tourist attractions, or vague inspiration pieces that tell you somewhere is beautiful without explaining how to get there or what to do when you arrive.

I am trying to write something different. Practical guides that assume you have limited time and want to use it well. Information about transport, timing, accommodation, and what to eat — the things that determine whether a trip actually works.

Nothing on this site is sponsored. I do not accept payment for coverage, and I do not have affiliate arrangements with accommodation providers or tour operators. When I recommend something, it is because I have used it myself and found it worth recommending.

About the Name

Nedelo is a Czech word for Sunday — the day most associated with rest, family, and the question of where to go. NediloPoint is the answer to that question, or at least a starting point for finding one.
